We have been advised that our delivery of swine flu will arrive on the 6th November 2009. Until the vaccine is in the surgery we will not contact our patients. We will start writing to our patients after that date.
You should have the vaccine if you are six months of age or above and:
- you have a long term health condition such as chronic lung, heart, kidney,liver or neurological disease, or diabetes mellitus
- you are pregnant
- your immune system is compromised because of a disease or treatment for a disease
- you live in the same house as someone whose immune system is compromised.
If you do not have any of the above then you will not be given the vaccine at the moment. Please don't ask us for it if you don't fall in to the above categories, the Department of Health are being very strict about who can have the vaccination.
