Other Information
Repeat Prescription Policy
The surgery participates in repeat dispensing which means that we can provide
you with a batch of prescriptions for up to six months, sometimes longer. This
saves you from having to come to the surgery to request another prescription.
This service is for patients who have regular medication and are currently stable.
Please ask your doctor if you qualify and would like this option.
Repeat prescriptions will be dealth with within 48 hours of being delivered to the surgery. Howevere, if youy need a medication review (and this is shown on your prescripition starting "please see a doctor or nurse two weeks before requesting a prescription") and you havn't been to see the doctor then it will take longer than 48 hours.
The procedure for obtaining repeats is explained in "Prescriptions"
Referrals To Consultants/Hospitals Or Other Services
If the doctor considers that a referral for your condition is necessary then
options will be discussed. We are participating in the NHS service for 'choice
and booking' which means that the doctor will advise you of what choices you
have for where you can be seen and will provide you with instructions for arranging
an appointment. This means that the patient can contact the hospital and arrange
an appointment to suit themselves rather than be given an appointment which may
not suit them. The doctor will still send a referral letter explaining the reasons
for the referral.
Transport for Royden Patients
Epping Forest Community Transport provides transport which comes to the surgery every Thursday. Once you have booked your appointment, you will then need to contact the service (telephone 01992 564040) to arrange your place on the bus.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SERVICE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE TRANSPORT FOR 'BOOK ON THE DAY' APPOINTMENTS.
EFCT is a voluntary service for which a small charge will be made. It is not the responsibility of the surgery. The surgery does know of other voluntary drivers who may be able o assist you at other times (apart from Thursdays), but you will need to enquire about these.
Isabel Hospice
Our practice has access to the Isabel Hospice community nurse specialist and
all referrals will be sent via the doctors at the surgery.
Violent Or Abusive Patients
We do operate a zero tolerance to abuse of staff. The surgery has the right to
remove patients if any doctor or member of staff feels threatened by a patient's
behaviour. If this occurs you will be notified in writing.
Freedom Of Information – Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication
Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information
the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is available from
reception.
