Emergencies Outside Normal Surgery Hours
A medical emergency is a condition which has suddenly arisen or suddenly worsened
and which would seriously endanger your health if not assessed before the next
available surgery. Please remember that the 'out-of-hours' service is for emergencies
only. Outside normal hours is after 6.30pm and before 8.00am on weekdays, all
day Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
For all urgent problems, please first ring NHS Direct on 0845 4647 (you can also
visit their website at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk). The 'out of hours' service is based
at Hertford County Hospital. You can contact them
on 03000 33 33 33 for advice or if you wish to be seen. Do not go there without
an appointment.
We also have an Urgent Care Centre based in Cheshunt. It is a new "walk-in" service available between 8.00am and 8.00pm seven days a week. If you wish to know what can be treated at this centre there are leaflets at the surgery or you can telephone NHS direct on 0845 4647 for advice.
Disabled Access
The surgery has been built to ensure that we comply with the DDA (Disability
Discrimination Act). We have two disabled parking bays, sloping access with automatic
doors and a lift.
